PSYCHOLOGICAL SAFETY
Creating a safe space to thrive, contribute and be a part of your success
Overview
Humans are astute and well-rehearsed on knowing how it feels to be judged. Throughout our lives, we file away the experiences and feelings, where we have learned how it feels to be ignored or judged for our opinions or behaviours. For some, speaking up and challenging is what they do and they thrive on it, for many, speaking up in teams is a behaviour to avoid.
Think about a time where you were in a team meeting and you wanted to comment but chose not to because you weren't sure if you should know the answer or you didn't want to come across as being negative or you simply couldn't find a gap in the conversation to speak. Or if that isn't the case for you, think about team meetings that you have been involved with where members of the team don't contribute their thoughts. We have all experienced these scenarios many times throughout our lives - our experiences drive the behaviour of self-protection where we don't speak up.
In this workshop, we look at how building a psychologically safe space within teams creates a space of inclusion, learning, contribution and challenge without fear of judgment or negative consequences.
